Why Food4All?

California's immigrant communities are under attack -- amidst federal attacks and anti-immigrant policies, communities daily must make the decision between leaving their homes to seek food and resources and the threat of kidnapping, deportation, and family separation. Hunger is only worsening -- and now, due to H.R. 1, 72,000 humanitarian immigrants will begin to lose access to CalFresh beginning April 1, 2026.

Our state leaders have the power to strengthen and protect families in California from the harm caused by hunger by making our food safety net more inclusive. The Food4All proposal ensures that immigrant Californians can feed themselves and their families with dignity by expanding our state-funded, state-administered food assistance program to remove immigration status as a barrier, and ensure no Californian goes hungry due only to where they were born.

What actions can I take?

Join us in calling California's elected leaders to demand their action to keep moving toward Food4All by 1) protecting their commitment to expand CFAP to Californians ages 55+, regardless of immigration status, by October 2027, 2) restore benefits to newly excluded immigrants under H.R. 1 through this same program expansion, and 3) make this benefit available to all, regardless of immigration status or age.

This call to action is for all who want to see food for all in our state -- individuals and organizational representatives are welcome and encouraged to make calls! This call to action is for the month of April, as we call on our leaders to take action in the May Revision of the state budget.

What steps should I take?

1. Fill out the form below and add you name to join the list of Food4All supporters who called California leaders!
2. Once you submit, you'll receive a call script and 5 phone numbers to call. You will be connected to someone in the office of the legislator, or a voicemail. Follow our script (or add your own reasons for supporting Food4All!) when you get the chance to speak! If you are in the district of any of the legislative electeds, it's important to name that during your call!
3. Once you finish your call, share this call to action with 2 friends to help our message for Food4All to get loud!!

Las comunidades de inmigrantes de California están bajo ataque -- en medio de ataques federales y políticas anti-inmigrantes, las comunidades deben tomar diariamente la decisión entre abandonar sus hogares para buscar alimentos y recursos y la amenaza del secuestro, la deportación y la separación familiar. Nuestros líderes estatales tienen el poder de fortalecer y proteger a las familias en California del daño causado por el hambre haciendo que nuestra red de seguridad alimentaria sea más inclusiva.
